State Approved TrainingState Approved Training sessions are 2-hour classes that can be combined with health and safety classes throughout the day at any of our conferences. The new Webinar Wednesday series and out upcoming regional conferences will offer new state approved sessions each time.
New Classes for Fall: Time Out for Time Outs Who is Maslow and What Pyramid Did He Build? Supervising Gross Motor Play Child Abuse: Detection, Reporting and Family Supports Child Development Associate ClassesChild Development Associate (CDA) classes will begin in February. This 120-hour comprehensive class prepares students for working as a Lead Teacher and Administrator in an early care and learning setting.
This 12-week session utilizes the Essentials Manual in alignment with the Functional Goals of the CDA program to teach the principles needed for candidates to complete the credentialling process with the CDA Council. Fire SafetyFire Safety is required every 3 years for Georgia Child Care Employees and within the first 90 days of employment for new hires.
This course is lecture based and requires a short quiz at the end of the session for completion. Notes will be given during class. Next Sessions: January 28th 1pm-3pm Effingham YMCA Fire Safety is $35 per person. Health and Safety OrientationThe Health and Safety Orientation session is presented in two parts at our child care conferences (morning and afternoon) to complete the full 6 hour course. Participants must complete both sessions to receive certification. If Child Abuse training is needed as well, a link will be sent prior to the face-to-face conference and completion verified prior to the end of the session.
